Jackson case mother on ‘divine mission’

THE mother of the boy accusing Michael Jackson of sex abuse told police she was chosen by God to bring the pop star to “justice”, it emerged yesterday.

On a police tape, obtained by a US television show, the woman is heard saying to officers: “God hand-picked me and the kids because he knew that we weren’t going to fall for any of their money.

“It was going to be justice more than anything,” she added.

The woman also claimed on tapes obtained by The Insider that Jackson’s associates pressured her to flee to Brazil after the storm caused by Martin Bashir’s documentary on Jackson last year.

She said she was told to flee “because there was people that were going to kill the children and me”.

The latest revelation came as Jackson’s lawyers were back in court attempting to have some evidence in the sex abuse case thrown out.

In a two-day hearing which started yesterday, lawyers for the pop star challenged the admissibility of evidence seized from his Neverland Ranch.

The defence claimed police overstepped their bounds during that search and the search of a private detective’s office.

The mother of the alleged victim will give evidence in the pre-trial hearing today, which Jackson, 46, is expected to attend although he is not obliged to be present at pre-trial hearings.

Jackson denies plying his alleged victim, a teenage cancer survivor, with wine before molesting him. The Thriller star is free on $3 million (€2.5m) bail.

He has pleaded not guilty to committing a lewd act upon a child, administering an intoxicating agent - alcohol - and conspiring to commit child abduction, false imprisonment and extortion.

The self-styled King of Pop has called the claims a “big lie”.
