Climbers die at Swiss Alps

FOUR mountaineers died yesterday as they descended the 4,491-metre (14,734-foot) Taeschhorn peak in the Swiss Alps, police said.

Valais cantonal (state) police did not identify the victims. The climbers, who were roped together, appeared to have died after one slipped and dragged the other three down the mountainside, police said.
