ISME urges value-for-money test

ISME, the small and medium business organisation, has called for the immediate introduction of departmental value-for-money audits and the privatisation of numerous public sector jobs.

The organisation has described the Government’s action plan on benchmarking as cynical, flawed and lacking in substance.

The plan, which was released recently by the Department of Finance attempts to introduce procedures in order to improve productivity in response to pay increases to public servants under the benchmarking arrangement.
