Shah protest at Brussels airport

GROUP 59 of unarmed supporters of Iran’s toppled monarchy were locked in a stand-off at Brussels airport last night after refusing to get off a flight that landed from Germany.

“This is not a hijacking,” said Astrid Kaisen, a Belgian police spokeswoman.

A woman who claimed her father was among the demonstrators said the group were supporters of Iran’s late Shah and wanted to draw attention to Iran’s problems.
