Israel raids home of British citizen

ISRAELI soldiers raided the home of a British citizen early yesterday as she and a group of Palestinians were socialising over music and coffee, and killed a wanted militant when he fled.

A militant group vowed revenge, prompting new concerns over a possible surge in violence as the date nears for Israel’s scheduled pullout from the Gaza Strip and four West Bank settlements.

Elsewhere, a young Israeli woman was killed when a rocket fired from Gaza hit her house in Nativ Haasara, a village just north of the coastal strip.
