A STUDENT won an award for designing a keyring that reminds motorists whether they have locked their car.

Ian Gell, 23, said the device was intended to prevent drivers having to go back and check if they had locked their vehicle after parking it.

The idea earned Gell, from Maidstone, Kent, the title of overall winner in the International Young Designer Awards.
