Kirk settles semen strife in horse breeding deal
And now the good captainâs alter ego, William Shatner, has made the best of another sticky situation by getting his horse semen in order.
Lawyers for Marcy Lafferty Shatner, the Star Trek starâs second wife, announced that the exes had settled a legal battle over the aforementioned equine genetic matter, but terms of the deal were not disclosed. The lawsuit was officially dismissed in June.
The former missus sued Shatner in April, claiming he failed to make good on a divorce settlement stipulation that he beam down âfresh cooled formatâ semen from his prize stallions, including the horses Great Dayâs Came the Sun and Sultanâs Great Day, by instead sending her frozen semen.
There was no word on why Shatner stopped the âfresh cooledâ shipments last March. He had been providing Marcy Shatner her preferred semen in every horse-breeding season since their 1995 split.
The âfresh cooledâ variety is the semen of choice for horse breeders, according to the suit.
Shatner, 72, has been a horse enthusiast for years, maintaining farms in Kentucky since the mid-1980s and hosting an annual celebrity polo match for charity in California.
Heâs currently wed to wife number four, the former Elizabeth J Martin.
