A TEENAGER who killed a love rival by spiking his drink with cyanide has been sentenced to life in prison in Ellicott City, Maryland.

Ryan Furlough was convicted in May of first-degree murder for killing Benjamin Vassiliev. Vassiliev, 17, died in January, 2003, five days after he had a seizure at Furlough's suburban Baltimore home, where the two had been playing video games. Furlough was in love with Vassiliev's girlfriend, prosecutors said.
