Man on terrorism charge

Noureddinne Mouleff, aged 36, of Pevensey Road, Eastbourne, was charged under Section 57 of the Terrorism Act, namely being in possession of articles or items in connection with an act of terrorism.

Mouleff, who was arrested a week ago, has also been charged with conspiring with others to defraud clearing banks of large sums of money.

Mouleff, of North African origin, is due to appear before Bow Street Magistrates Court in London today.

The remaining five men continue to be questioned under Section 17 of the Terrorism Act.

The men, all in their mid-20s, were detained by officers investigating a “large scale” cheque and credit card fraud.

They were being held in relation to the arranging of funds or property for the purposes of terrorism.

Police said earlier yesterday that all six men were being questioned by detectives at police stations across Sussex. Mouleff was arrested last Tuesday night, while the others were taken into custody on Thursday and Friday. Two, including Mouleff, are from Eastbourne, two are from Hastings and two are from London.
