ISRAELI Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s son testified yesterday that he destroyed potentially incriminating tapes relating to two corruption investigations, including one that targets the premier.

If Sharon and his son Gilad are indicted for corruption, the prime minister could be forced to resign.

Israel’s state attorney has recommended the prime minister and his son be indicted in the so-called Greek Island Affair, in which a real estate developer allegedly paid them hundreds of thousands of pounds in exchange for help promoting a tourism project.
