Arabs must confront US, says Iraqi vice president

IRAQ’S vice president yesterday called on all Arabs to confront the United States and its people

Taha Yassin Ramadan's comments were the most belligerent remarks by a senior Iraqi official so far during the current stand-off with Washington.

The US accuses Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein of seeking to obtain weapons of mass destruction and of harbouring terrorists. Iraq denies the allegations. Most Arab nations, along with Russia and China, remain firmly opposed to any military action.
