Sharon a war criminal: Livingstone

LONDON Mayor Ken Livingstone yesterday accused Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon of being a “war criminal” and said Israel was involved in the “ethnic cleansing” of Palestinians.

The Labour politician’s comments, in an article in yesterday’s Guardian, are bound to rekindle the row sparked when Mr Livingstone refused to apologise to a Jewish reporter he likened to a concentration camp guard.

Mr Livingstone wrote: “Israel’s expansion includes ethnic cleansing. Palestinians who had lived in that land for centuries were driven out by systematic violence and terror.
