Aid to top €1.5bn

EUROPEAN aid to the tsunami disaster fund will top €1.5 billion following additional donations announced at the world leaders’ summit in Jakarta yesterday.

A loan fund of an additional €1bn will also be set up by the EU to help with rebuilding the areas where more than five million people have been left homeless.
