Police receive 2,000 calls in hunt for the ‘trophy rapist’

POLICE said yesterday they had received nearly 2,000 telephone calls after an e-fit was released of the “trophy rapist” who has attacked 10 women and girls in the south east of England.

The serial attacker's latest victim, a 14-year-old, was the first to catch a glimpse of him and helped police to compile the image, which was released on Wednesday.

Police said "a number" of names have already been put forward by members of the public.
