Envoy expelled

RUSSIA will expel a Latvian diplomat, the Foreign Ministry said today, in what was thought to be a retaliatory move for the recent expulsion of a Russian diplomat from the Baltic country.

Latvia’s ambassador to Russia, Normans Penke, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry and told that the first secretary of the Latvian embassy must leave Russia within 48 hours, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
