Norwegian Shipowners issue strike threat

THE Norwegian Shipowners’ Association yesterday announced that it will go ahead with a lockout in response to a lingering strike by offshore oil workers.

The association said the lockout of 300 workers on three drilling rigs, one production ship and eight drilling installations on fixed platforms would go into force at midnight tonight.
