Workers killed in China

ELEVEN Chinese construction workers have been killed in northern Afghanistan when “armed terrorists” opened fire at a construction site, China’s government said.

About 20 gunmen attacked the construction site in Kondoz at about 1am local time.

Security guards exchanged fire with the attackers but it is not known whether any of the gunmen were hit. Ten of the dead have been identified as employees of the China Railway.
