Leave Iraq or more will die, US warned

AL-QAIDA deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahri has warned the United States it will suffer tens of thousands of military dead if it does not withdraw its troops from Iraq immediately.

In a videotape, shown on Arab television station Al-Jazeera yesterday, al-Zawahri warned British Prime Minister Tony Blair that London faces further destruction if British troops don’t leave Iraq. He then told the US it can expect vastly greater casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“As for you, the Americans, what you have seen in New York and Washington, what losses that you see in Afghanistan and Iraq, despite the media blackout, is merely the losses of the initial clashes,” he said.
