But its not just overeating that is killing us; it's eating the wrong foods. And sometimes we can't help it. New research suggests people become addicted to fat in fast food meals and pile on the pounds and the food companies have known this for years.

EU Commissioner for Health and Consumers David Byrne is fresh from doing battle with the tobacco giants by insisting they put huge warnings on their packets of cigarettes and reducing advertising.
