TV pictures rejected as US propaganda

IRAQIS watched videotape of Saddam Hussein in court yesterday, uneasy about the effects of the images on their country and in some cases awed by the control which they believed he seemed to wield over the proceedings.

Some described the scene not as justice but "American propaganda".

"This is not the time", said Mohammed Mahdi as he and several workers sat around a small television in a hotel lobby to watch the video over an Arabic language satellite station.
