Gerrard will recover form, says Houllier

GERARD HOULLIER has put a fatherly arm around troubled midfielder Steven Gerrard and admitted: "We are working to get him out of this bad patch."

Houllier may decide to rest the England star tomorrow at Sunderland after giving him a very public ear-bashing following the Champions League exit against Basle.

He said: "Steven is not going through a good period. We are working beside him to get him out of this bad patch. Maybe in a month we will laugh at this because he will be back to his best but we miss him.
