Elvis still king of the charts

ELVIS fans were rocking last night as the legend’s One Night track took the 1,000th number one chart spot and left bookmakers all shook up.

The success of the 1959 re-released track left bookies singing the blues as they paid out to fans who had backed the King to take the prize. Last week’s chart-topper, Jailhouse Rock, filled the number 10 slot.

Bookies William Hill were offering 5/2 in December but were forced to close the betting on Thursday after fans backed the price to 14/1 on.
