BRITISH Prime Minister Tony Blair can expect no special favours from the US at this week's G8 summit in return for his support over Iraq, US President George Bush made clear yesterday.

Mr Blair has some chance of achieving the agreement he wants from the leaders of the world's eight biggest economies on assistance for Africa, but still appears to be far from getting the US to sign up to his other big priority for the summit - action on global warming.

In an interview with ITV1's Tonight With Trevor McDonald, Mr Bush gave Mr Blair little cause for hope that he is ready to join other G8 nations in concerted action to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions blamed for climate change.
