Loss of spy plane is hostile, warns US

THE shooting down of a US un-manned spy plane yesterday was the latest in a series of hostile acts by the Iraqi regime, American military officials said

The Predator drone was conducting a reconnaissance mission over southern Iraq, US Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman General Richard Myers told a Pentagon news conference. The plane is presumed a total loss, he said.

“They got a lucky shot today, and they brought down the predator,” Mr Myers said.
