Bush holds slim lead
Bush led Kerry 48% to 46% in the latest Reuters/Zogby three-day tracking poll, a statistical dead heat that was within the poll’s margin of error. Bush’s lead among likely voters the previous day was 47-45. The number of undecided voters in the poll fell to 4%. Neither candidate has been able to break 50% since the poll began on October 7, although Bush reached 50% in the last of the three days of polling on Saturday that went into the survey.
Other polls also show a close race although they do suggest that Bush has a razor-thin lead. A Newsweek survey released on Saturday gave Bush a single point lead among likely voters, also statistically insignificant. A Time magazine poll said Bush’s lead had widened to five points.
