29 charged after EU summit riots

FORMAL charges were filed yesterday against 29 demonstrators who took part in a riot during marches on the final day of a European Union summit, prosecutors said.

The demonstrators, who include nine foreigners and three minors, were to appear before prosecutors in Greece later in the day.

The nationalities of the foreign suspects were not immediately announced.
