THE Dáil’s two new deputies turned up for their first day of work yesterday — only to discover they’ll be on holiday in no time.

The house rises for Easter tomorrow and will not return until April 12 giving TDs more than a fortnight off.

It means a less than frenetic start to Dáil life for Independent Catherine Murphy, who won the recent Kildare North by-election, and Fine Gael's Shane McEntee, who won in Meath.
