Dempsey considering research facility
MediaLab Europe (MLE), which was based in south inner city Dublin, was placed into voluntary liquidation last month after swallowing €35.5 million of taxpayers’ money and causing the loss of 50 jobs.
The joint venture with American university, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, also raised €12m in funding from private investors. A rescue plan by the board, which sought another €9 million to save the project, was rejected by the Government.
