Power blackout in Greece

AN EMERGENCY investigation is underway in Greece into the cause of a power blackout over more than half the country, and whether another could occur during next month’s Olympics.

The government is blaming the failure on mismanagement of the electricity distribution network. Its findings will be released in eight days, an official said yesterday.
