Poland urged other nations Monday to keep their troops in Iraq, saying Spain’s declared future withdrawal would create “serious complications” for the US-led coalition.

“We can see already that the new government will adopt a different approach on the presence of Spanish troops in Iraq,” Prime Minister Leszek Miller said, after the incoming Socialist leaders in Madrid declared they would recall their soldiers.

“That means, quite obviously, serious complications for Poland,” Miller said.
