Mementos of ‘fifth Beatle’ Sutcliffe to be auctioned
Bass-guitarist Sutcliffe, who was credited with inventing the band’s name and distinctive look, died of a brain haemorrhage in 1962 aged just 21 as the group was on the verge of international fame.
Now Sutcliffe’s sister Pauline, who has guarded the items for the last 40 years, has decided to sell more than 100 of his sketchbooks, photographs, letters, poetry and lyrics at London auction house Bonhams.
