Lindh killer requests new lawyer

THE man convicted of killing Sweden’s Foreign Minister Anna Lindh wants a new lawyer to represent him during his appeal before Sweden’s Supreme Court.

The court will next month hear an appeal by prosecutors to reinstate the life prison sentence for Mijailo Mijailovic, who was convicted in March of fatally stabbing Ms Lindh on September 10, 2003, as she shopped unguarded in a department store. An appeals court changed his life sentence to psychiatric care.
