Republic of Ireland captain Katie McCabe to leave Arsenal after 11-year stay
TIME TO SAY GOODBYE: Arsenal's Katie McCabe gives a thumbs up to fans.
Republic of Ireland captain Katie McCabe will leave Arsenal at the end of the season.
McCabe has made over 300 appearances for Arsenal across a span of 11 years since her 2015 move from Shelbourne.
The 30-year-old won the Women's Super League in 2019 before adding a Women's Champions League medal to her haul last year.
The Dubliner - who has been linked with a move to Super League rivals and recently-crowned champions, Manchester City - will bring the curtain down on her Arsenal career against Denise O'Sullivan's Liverpool on Saturday.
The North London outfit announced her departure in a statement on Thursday.
"Over more than a decade at Arsenal, Katie has made a significant and lasting contribution to the history and success of our football club," director of women's football Clare Wheatley said.
"Katie has led with passion and commitment, giving everything for the badge and forging a special bond with our supporters. She departs as a club legend and we are so proud of our shared journey together."
