"I loved playing here for 11 years - tremendous honour for me - and now coming back as Director of Football is something I’m very proud of and I’m delighted to be back.
“When I made the decision two years ago to leave the club it was always with the foresight of coming back in a capacity to work behind the scenes and maybe it’s a come a little bit earlier than expected.
“But for me it’s a brilliant opportunity to come back in working at the football club and one I’m really looking forward to."
