Benjamin Nygren insists Celtic will "hunt" Hearts down as the William Hill Premiership title race approaches the new year.

The high-flying Jambos have beaten both Rangers and Celtic home and away this season and are six points ahead of the Hoops having played a game more.

Celtic travel to Livingston on Saturday while Hearts, who last won the top flight in 1960, face Hibernian at Easter Road.

Nygren was succinct when asked how he felt about the prospect of chasing the Tynecastle side.

"Very excited," he said. "We will hunt them down."

Nygren's confidence is bolstered by the 3-1 win over Aberdeen at Parkhead last Sunday, where he scored the opener just before the break.

And while Kenan Bilalovic equalised in the 74th minute, late goals from Kieran Tierney and substitute James Forrest proved decisive.

It was Wilfried Nancy's first win as Celtic boss after four defeats out of four since taking over in the Hoops hot seat.

After a very difficult period when the French coach came under increasing pressure, Nygren expects Celtic to kick on after the win.

The 24-year-old Swedish midfielder said: "It must have been one of the games that we've created most chances all season. We had over 30 shots in total. I don't know if we've had that before. I don't know how many times we hit the post.

"But the feeling on the pitch was very good that we really attacked them. So that's how we want to keep on going.

"It was a massive win, and I think it was a very good performance as well.

"We could have scored a lot of goals and that's what it's all about, to play good and to create as many chances as possible because then the chance of winning is a lot higher. I think we showed that it wasn't just a win.

"I also think in some of the other games we've also created a lot of chances without scoring. So I feel good and that the team feels good."
