Jimmy Dunne called into Ireland squad as Liam Scales misses Portugal clash

Jimmy Dunne has been called into Heimir Hallgrímsson side for the Portugal and Armenia matches as cover for defender Liam Scales who has not travelled to Lisbon following a family bereavement.
Scales will miss Saturday's clash against group toppers Portugal at teh Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon but will be available for the game against Armenia three days later in the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
The FAI issued a statement on X "Jimmy Dunne called into the squad for the Portugal and Armenia matches.
"Defender Liam Scales will not travel to Lisbon due to a family bereavement but will come back into the squad for the Armenia match.
"Our thoughts are with him and his family at this time."
Dunne's only cap for Ireland to date was in March in a 2-1 win over Bulgaria in the Nations League. The Dundalk native has played a main role with QPR since joining the Championhsip side from Burnley in 2021 and signed a contract to remain at Loftus Road during the summer.
