In football terms this was a rerun of the Miracle of Medinah when the European side fought back from 10-6 to beat the USA in the Ryder Cup in 2012.

Kerry FC were 3-0 down to an Owen Elding hat-trick in the FAI Cup quarter-final and appeared to be heading out of the competition before their vociferous home fans at Mounthawk Park.
