Republic of Ireland international Finn Azaz is set to leave Middlesbrough for Southampton in a deal reportedly worth up to £15 million (€17.3m).
Southampton had been chasing the attacking midfielder for some time, but had a bid rejected last week. Now UK media is reporting that a deal has been agreed for an initial £12m plus £3m in achievable add-ons.
Azaz joined Boro from Aston Villa in January last year for £2.5m, having had loan spells at Plymouth and Newport County.
He has scored 17 goals in 67 appearances for Rob Edwards' side, including a goal in last Saturday's win over Norwich.
Boro have strengthened in attack this summer, with Sontje Hansen coming in, while Sverre Nypan can also play in Azaz's favoured number 10 role.
