Two first half goals saw Wexford return to winning ways with the three points keeping them very much in the promotion play-off spot as Treaty United hit rock bottom in this Division 1 game at Ferrycarrig Park.
Wexford had played nearly all of the football through a one-sided opening forty-five minutes as they practically camped inside the Treaty half, with the Shannonsiders showing little in the way of attacking flair.
It came as no surprise when the home side took the lead as early as the ninth minute. And the goal was something special as Kaylem Harnett floated a superb ball from the left flank across the face of goal and into the opposite corner of the net.
The Treaty response failed to materialise with their solitary threat up front coming from Mark Byrne. After further pressure, the host eventually hit their second goal.
A long crossfield ball from James Crawford picked out Mikie Rowe, who cut in from the left before beating keeper Corey Chambers at his near post with a powerful strike.
Treaty tried to retrieve the situation before the interval with Mark Byrne getting their first direct shot on target after forty minutes but Paul Martin was equal to the task.
The game restarted with Wexford continuing to press forward but through the second period both sides struggled to create a clear chance on goal as the game petered out.
Wexford should have increased their lead in additional time but sub Calum Flynn saw his header from a few metres go over the top with only the keeper to beat.
