Former Ireland international Conor Hourihane has been placed in caretaker charge of Barnsley after head coach Darrell Clarke was been sacked after nearly 10 months in charge.

Bandon midfielder Hourihane formally moved into coaching last summer assisting Clarke, having begun his coaching qualifications five years ago while still on the books of Premier League Aston Villa.
