John O’Shea is adamant that the Ireland management are considering League of Ireland contenders in their bid to break the major tournament famine.

Shamrock Rovers boss Stephen Bradley lashed out Heimir Hallgrímsson for suggesting the European progress of the Hoops could result in his players “getting a career change from this success.” Two members of the team involved in that run to the knockout stages of the Conference League – Josh Honohan and Johnny Kenny – have since been included in the provisional Ireland squad for next week’s Uefa Nations League playoff against Bulgaria. Hallgrímsson will announce the final panel on Thursday, a week out from the first leg in Plovdiv.
