Man United v Liverpool team news: Fernandes and Ugarte return for United as Konate comes back into Liverpool defence

United are clear second favourites at Anfield today but they've fielded what could be considered they're strongest XI

Bruno Fernandes returns to the starting line-up for Manchester United

Liverpool have received a boost with the return of centre-back Ibrahima Konate. The French international replaces Joe Gomez in the heart of defence and is the only change made by Arne Slot.

Both teams look to have named their strongest XI - or at least very close to it. Szoboszlai and Nunez are the hosts main attacking options from the bench.

Meanwhile, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has made three changes to the side that lost 2-0 to Newcastle.

Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte return from suspension to reclaim their places from Casemiro and Christian Eriksen who failed to gel against the Magpies. Kobbie Mainoo also returns in midfield. Garnacho is an option off the bench for United.
