Cobh Ramblers head coach Gary Hunt has left the club, the SSE Airtricity First Division side has confirmed.

Hunt took over before the beginning of the 2024 season, guiding Cobh to an eighth place finish in the second tier.

Reflecting on his time with Cobh, Hunt said, “I’m disappointed not to be able to continue the work we started here, but I wish the club all the best as they move forward. We achieved Cobh’s third-highest points-per-game ratio in the past seven years and integrated ten young academy players into matchday squads throughout the season, something I hope will help the club in the future.

"I’m grateful for the support from the board, my staff, and the players, as well as the incredible welcome from the fans, who truly are the heart of this club.”

The club stated: “We would like to thank Gary for his professionalism and dedication and wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Ramblers will now begin the search for a successor. The club was taken over last month by USA-based group FC32.
