Treaty come from behind to down Finn Harps
Thomas Considine of Treaty United celebrates.
Two second-half substitutes were both on target as Treaty United came from behind to defeat Finn Harps in their season-ending First Division clash.
Thomas Considine and Mark Byrne struck for the Limerick side in the final quarter to bag the points in Ballybofey.
So Treaty - who started the season with a great run - have certainly finished the campaign on a positive note as well, as this extended their unbeaten run to five games.
Captained by Mark Walsh in his 97th appearance, Treaty have finished sixth, one place below Finn Harps, who were in the hunt for a play-off spot until earlier this week when they lost to Wexford.
The Donegal side had the better of the exchanges in the opening half hour.
Treaty’s teenage goalkeeper Michael Dike had to be alert in the opening quarter and made a number of important stops with Success Edogun looking liveliest in attack for the home side.
Conor Tourish hit the post for Harps on 33 minutes with Max Johnston unable to steer the loose ball into the net.
But moments later Kevin Tourish sent in a great cross for Tourish to break the deadlock as he rose to meet the ball and head past Dike.
Both sides had chances before Treaty struck back with Considine - who had already forced Oisin Cooney into one particularly good save - getting the equaliser with a cracking effort on 70 minutes.
And Byrne stunned the Finn Park faithful, as he met a Considine cross to head home and make it 2-1 for the visitors seven minutes later.
