Team news?

Séamus Coleman and Andrew Omobamidele were the only Irish players to sit out training on Tuesday as preparations cranked up for Saturday’s derby.

New boss Hallgrimsson was relieved to include the captain in his squad but the recovery from his calf injury sustained in pre-season, especially being in the twilight of his career, demands careful management of his training load. The Everton full-back was joined on the sidelines at FAI headquarters by fellow defender Omobamidele.

He’d been an unused substitute in Nottingham Forest’s opening two Premier League games, played the full 90 minutes of the Carabao Cup tie against Nottingham Forest but was absent last weekend. While Coleman is expected to be fit to start, the extent of Omobamidele’s injury is unknown.

Brighton striker Evan Ferguson is continuing to progress his fitness in training after a lengthy injury lay-off, but should play his part at the Aviva.

Meanwhile, England's Phil Foden, Ollie Watkins and Cole Palmer have joined Jude Bellingham on the absent list.

Pep Guardiola threw doubt over Manchester City midfielder Foden's availability at the weekend.

“His stomach doesn’t feel good, it’s a little virus, and he should be fine with antibiotics,” he said. “I think Phil is not going with England but it’s up to the national team to decide.”
