Irish international football star, John Egan, is teaming up with Pringles to celebrate the unwavering passion of Irish football fans.

John Egan insists his focus at the moment is solely on recovering from the Achilles injury that prematurely ended his involvement in the Premier League last season rather than where he will be playing his football in the upcoming campaign.

The Cork native hasn’t featured for club or country since he suffered the issue during Sheffield United’s loss away to West Ham United at the end of September.

Egan’s contract at the Blades has since expired but while he continues his rehabilitation at the club, it is believed he is currently in talks over extending his six-year stay at Bramall Lane.

But while the centre-back is out of contract, he is free to speak to other clubs and it is also believed that a number of Premier League sides are hoping to secure his services.

“Where I stand, I suppose, is making sure I'm fully fit for pre-season,” insisted Egan, who has teamed up with Pringles to celebrate the unwavering passion of Irish football fans.

“Those talks are going on in the background, they are above my head. For the last few months now, I've just been gearing myself towards getting fully fit for pre-season.

“I'm in a great place now and I'm doing a lot of work with Sheffield, the staff, and doing a lot of good training. That's been at the forefront of my mind, getting back fully fit.

“Most of these things are out of my hands. As a player, all I can do is focus on getting my body up to speed.

“Them talks will be going on in the background and when the time comes, when there is an offer or a decision to be made, everything gets weighed up.

“My main goal now is to keep going with my training and keep working really hard and when the time comes where a decision has to be made, a decision will be made.”

Asked if his preference is to remain in England or has he considered making a move abroad Egan responded; “It hasn’t really entered my mind, anything really.

“Ideally I would like to have something sorted soon but as I have said before these talks are going on in the background and as a player all I can do now is make sure I recover from this injury 100% and keep striving really hard to put myself in the best shape possible for pre-season.”
