Given a rebuilt Dalymount Park was trumpeted as a legacy project of Ireland hosting co-hosting Euro 2020, don’t expect too many domestic remnants from Wednesday’s showpiece.

The Europa League final is the second-biggest annual occasion in the European club calendar, a €15m boon to the economy too, but there’s little to connect it with the current state of Irish football.
