Two more Cork Schoolboys League cup finals due to be played at Turner's Cross on Tuesday night have been postponed because of "an unplayable pitch", the C.S.L has announced.

The home of Cork football only re-opened its doors at the beginning of May due to extensive work being undertaken to the pitch, which was severely damaged during Cork City's clash with Cobh Ramblers at the beginning of April.

Since then City have hosted Wexford in the League of Ireland First Division as well as Treaty United and Shamrock Rovers in the Women's Premier Division.

Some local finals have also been held at the venue and in a bid to protect the playing surface from further damage, it was decided on Monday that the under 11 and under 16 local finals due to take place that night have been postponed and will instead be played on Monday May 20.

Carrigaline United have teams in both finals with their U11s set to take on Ringmahon Rangers while their U16s will come up against Douglas Hall next Monday.

And due to further rainfall on Leeside, the C.S.L announced that Tuesday's U12 cup final between College Corinthians and Mallow United, along with the U14 final featuring Douglas Hall and Carrigaline United have also been postponed.

Those showpiece occasions will now be played this Friday night May 17 while Wednesday's U13 and U15 finals are set to go ahead as planned.

The Cork Schoolboys League posted on Facebook on Tuesday: "U12 and U14 Local Cup Finals tonight Tuesday May 14 in Turners Cross have been CANCELLED due to an unplayable pitch.

"These games have been refixed for Turners Cross next Fri night May 17. The U13 and U15 Finals on tomorrow night Wednesday May 15 still stand."
