Two exchanges from last weekend, one involving an Arsenal fan trying hard not to allow himself believe, the second an irritated Liverpool fan trying hard to comprehend his team’s continuing inability to beat Manchester United.

Y’know, Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United. The first exchange occurred on Saturday night, 50 years to the evening after Abba went to Brighton and triumphed and a couple of hours after the Gunners had gone to Brighton and triumphed.
