Ireland star Jamie Finn suffers ACL injury in training

Ireland star Jamie Finn has suffered a cruciate ligament injury while training with the national side ahead of tomorrow's friendly with Italy in Florence.

The FAI confirmed on Thursday morning that Finn will be unavailable for the game and revealed her injury is the dreaded ACL tear. The injury is likely to keep the Birmingham City star on the sidelines for at least six months, as she becomes the latest female player to encounter what appears to be an epidemic of ACL injuries.
